Thanks for all the podcast folk shows. I used to like listening to your programme on R2 and the replacement was nowhere near as good. Being able to download all these shows is wonderful. Enjoy the rest of your life
So sad to hear you have given up your folk show from your shed ,i am slowly listening to all the pod casts from the start again once a month, that should keep me going for a while ! And your christmas shows will be a must for me at that time of year from now on. Best of luck to you in the future and thank you for making a lot of people HAPPY
I was at college in Doncaster in the early 70’s, and had the great pleasure of seeing Mike several times in Donny. I treasure the memories of his music and the hilarious stories and intros – others have tried to follow in his footsteps, but there will only ever be one Rochdale Cowboy! I have now developed an obsession with hunting down his recordings, so that I can educate those who have missed his contribution to the cultural wealth of the UK. Thank you,Mike, may the sun never set on the Rochdale Cowboy.
I was a frequenter of Tuesday nights at the Pev in Manchester. I saw Mike Harding there and actually went “on tour” with John Madden and co to Banagher by the Shannon.
Do people still meet and play at the Pev? I live in Wales now but would travel to introduce new generations to the joy of the music there.
How is John Maddern and Mike Harding.
best wishes from an uncle joe eating Wigan with Irish roots .
Hi Mike
I last heard you playing the Banjo at the Old Hill Inn above Ingleton, and we keep your Walks in Yorkshire book close to hand in our Caravan for Guests and ourselves to dip into
Maybe the next time I see you in Settle, I’ll try to say Hello
Well done indeed over the Years.
John
