  • Hi Mike,
Loved the podcast as usual, fascinating to hear the stories behind the tracks too. Particularly liked the track Black me and the story behind ‘Our Native Daughters’.

    Thanks again,
    Gareth from ‘Bluebyrd’

I’m So glad you are still putting out a great show. I’ve followed you since the MSG days in Manchester by the Cathedral where you instigated in me a love of folk music. I even sang Oldham Tinkers in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai Folk Clubs in the early Eighties.
    All the best

I was widowed last year aged 45 when my hubby died of cancer and the first present he bought me over 25 years ago (when he was trying to get me to go on a date) was a tin of Uncle Joe’s mint balls and he sang some of your song to me. He’d often sing it over the years and I love listening to it now – it proves that you don’t always need a love song to bring a loved one to mind. I have to say though that once we were married he bought them for me in packets and not tins as it was cheaper !

  • I so enjoy these podcasts. Special favourite is anything from Australia as you’ve introduced us to some amazing and quite different folk songs 🙂

  • loving your contributions, many many thanks for keeping folk music gtounded and real, and encouraging everyone, not being a prima donna or stick in the mud, have learnt much over the years through this show and your albums

  • Mike is the best. Singer musician and comedian in the

  • Thank you Mr Harding, it has been a great pleasure discovering and listening to your songs. Now I have some new taste and new music I’d love to listen to (:

  • Another great show Mike. Good work.

  • I have only just found your show and what a delight it is. I have gone back as far as possible to the earliest podcasts and started listening from there. You accompany myself and my beagle on our walks in and around the south wales valleys (Bargoed). Its the perfect musical backdrop to walking in the woodland and countryside along with nature. Thank you for your good work and introducing me to singers that I have never heard of. Kind regards Nikola and Monty (dog).

  • Dear Father Mikemas, We’ve been good boys and girls this year so can we please have an extra jolly Folk Show for Christmas? Seasons greetings from The Harrison Family in the snowy mountains of the Black Forest!
